It seemed there was a revolving door for restaurants at this vintage strip mall until Ranch House Grille came on the scene, tempting locals with cheap, old-fashioned eats at bargain prices. From huevos rancheros to Philly cheesesteaks, there are plenty of things to splurge on, but the hands-down star of this show is the chicken-fried steak. They call it "country fried steak," but nevertheless, it's an exemplary rendition of an American classic, with tender beef and golden, crunchy coating. Slathered in creamy, peppery country gravy or luscious pork chili verde, it goes down way too easily. And boy, what a portion ― the thing takes up half the plate, but somehow we always manage to scarf it all down before we stop to think about the caloric repercussions.
The lunch rush is slowly calming down at the Ranch House Grille and Proprietor Leland Cline is still busy in the kitchen. Suddenly he darts from behind the doors, and surveys the dining room. With keen radar, he zeroes in on a table where a couple enjoys one of their favorite entrées. He already knows they have a question before they even ask it. With eager enthusiasm he approaches their table and guides them through the exotic selections of hot sauce they can add to their award winning Chicken Fried Steak. ...
The Arizona Republic even agrees they ranked the Ranch House Grille as one of the top 10 places to eat here in Phoenix. Don't let me forget that the Phoenix Magazine ranked them with ‶The Best Hangover Breakfast″ and ‶Top 50 Dishes″ for their Southwest Chicken Fried Steak. Now if my restaurant got voted best hangover breakfast I'd be one happy camper, that is of course assuming I have a restaurant which I don't seeing as I am a realtor in Arcadia. Anyway, that's not the point. The point I'm trying to make here is that the Ranch House Grille is spectacular and you have got to trot on down there this weekend for some tasty home cooked breakfast dishes.
My Huevos Rancheros was, like the rest of the meals, gigantic. The plate was filled with fluffy scrambled eggs, Pork Chile Verde sauce, hash browns, rice, beans and even more Pork Chile Verde sauce all served on thin corn tortilla. My first bite was excellent. The eggs were not overcooked and the chile verde was exceptional and fiery hot. I was very happy. The rice and beans were decent and a pleasant addition to the meal. Even they had a bit of a spicy kick to them which I found refreshing. What really made the platter was the hash browns. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but what made them shine was the scoop of chile verde that had been ladled on top of them before the rice had been piled on top of that. It was heaven. Then again, the entire plate was really grand.

by: Yahoo Local on May 11, 2014When you're in the mood for a hearty, Southern-style breakfast or lunch, look no further than Ranch House Grille. Unlike most restaurants, our eggs are cracked fresh when ordered rather than delivered to us in a five-pound plastic bag. The burger you order is made with Certified Angus Beef ®, and our steaks are cut on-site daily. If you love the chili verde, thank the cook - not the factory....
Happened to be driving by this place as it is close to our house. Stopped in for breakfast and was blown away! The customer service was very attentive, but the food is incredible. I had a half size breakfast plate and there was plenty! It was a fairly normal order eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, and toast but it was prepared exactly how I like it. My boyfriend had the special, breakfast chimis w rice and beans the first time and ouevos ranchero the next and he LOVED both! Huge portions, he didn't finish it and the flavor was amazing. They make their own salsa too and it's delicious. Atmosphere is a small family diner type, definitely comfortable and they take pride in their establishment. I recommend this restaurant for breakfast over any other in Scottsdale purely for the outstanding quality to price ratio.
by: Andeanna F. of Phoenix, AZ posting on Yelp.com on 8/17/2014Our family's all time favorite breakfast spot with chicken fired steak & gravy to die for! We tried other menu items, all good, but now we all fill up on their chicken fried steak 'light' that comes with crunchy good hash browns, egg & toast. The full size CFS is too large. The cooks are talented in 'Real Arizona' style food. I felt comfy and at home on the first visit. The AZ western art decor reminded me of my youth and a little cafe in Page, AZ Mom used to take us to. The wait staff are friendly and efficient every time we go. Which is every other weekend for two years! Ok to be honest, once in that time the kitchen messed up our order and another time a new waiter wasn't on the ball. But RHG always attempted to make it right for us. Go try RHG for quality Arizona cafe style food and you won't regret it. There is parking in the back.
by: Terri Tomes diner reviews posting on Urbanspoon.comOn the weekends, I frequently hike the local mountain trails. There is nothing better than finishing the hike by sitting in the casual relaxed environment and have some of the BEST breakfast in the Valley. The Pork Chile is some of the best I have ever had. Enough spice to excite the tastebuds, but not so spicy that this spice whimp struggles! GREAT weekend escape!
